Our Ruger Double Action Trigger Shims will stop the Trigger from rubbing the trigger housing and reduce friction to Smooth Trigger Pull. Shimming the Hammer will stop it from Rubbing the Frame and the Friction caused, allowing for Better and Stronger Primer Strikes, and a Lighter Hammer Spring to be installed Reducing Hammer and Trigger Pull. Shimming your Hammer & Trigger will remove much of the Excessive Side to Side Movement from these parts, keeping them better aligned, making for a Much Smoother Consistent Feel. Our Ruger Double Action Hammer and Trigger Shim Kits can be used to remove excess clearance found from varying factory manufacturing tolerances. Our Trigger and Hammer Shim Kits are designed to work with the 3/32 Trigger Pin and a 3/16 Hammer Pin standard on all Ruger Double Action Revolvers. The pictures of the Silver frame show FACTORY TENSION of a rested sear spring.Ruger Double Action GP100, SP101, RedHawk, Super RedHawk and AlaskanĪlso Fits Ruger Security-Six and its variants, the Service-Six and Speed-Six The spring will do no good at all without modification, NEVER mess with the coil of the spring. It ALSO needs to be bent back to get proper position of rested sear with no tension. I will not elaborate a whole lot but the spring leg (long leg) needs to be bent outward to not pass through the interior gap in the frame. NOT liking this I chose to experiment using the old style spring. Heavy sear tension translates into heavier pull weight.

This all translates into the FACT that the pull from one of these kits will NOT be a sweet as a Mark 1, 2 or 3 installation. The springs are a much different shape also.

It is heavier gauge wire, old springs were about.

I figured out that the SEAR SPRING in the new Mark IV is QUITE the BEAST compared to a Mark 1,2 or 3 sear spring.
